What is simple in my life!!

FOR TODAY --- March 2 but actually it was Monday because i didn't know this date had changed!!
but does it matter!!!

Outside my window...Daylight is coming, it is cloudy and the wind is roaring thru the buildings, the plastic garage is trying to stay put with its sides flapping and making crackling noises, the ground is bare and brown and last years leaves are still on the ground

I am thinking...there is too much to do already and it will probably just sit there at least for another month or until it warms up a bit

I am thankful for...for life itself but for the grace that God will give me unto death

From the learning rooms...

From the kitchen...there is thinly sliced colored peppers that i made into a marigold flower on an old forget-me-not plate, cashew cream that needs to be frozen, macadamia nuts to blend, green salad for breakfast, a few dishes left over from the meeting and macro piecrust cut outs for the grandchildren when they play tea.

I am wearing...a warm blanket around my shoulders with pjs still

I am creating...a bulletin from the meeting last night

I am going...to russia maybe for two weeks, we shall see at the end of the day, and maybe smithers today just because my dailyhabit is unbreakable

I am reading...the simple womans blogs about prayer, it is so intense and upllifting and really not too simple and yet when prayeris daily done it is simple, you can go about your life with peace

I am hoping...that relationships heal

I am hearing...the wind still, the fire

Around the house... books laying all over the floor to be sorted and given away

One of my favorite things...this blanket and couch, i hardly ever sit on my new ones

A few plans for the rest of the week: just at home this week want to exercise and practise breathing properly

I am thankful for... home, car, food, the forebearance God has to me and the example of loving kindness he has when mistakes are made,

I am remembering...what it was like last spring-can hardly wait to start putting in a garden again

I am going...to wash my car tomorrow

I am currently reading...Daniel and the Revelation by Uriah Smith and Daniel 11. One more chapter to go and this is the glory chapter where Michael stands up and is going to save us

I am hoping... our prayers for a mended family will be answered--3

On my mind... another weekend is over and with it came a visit from one daughter, a phone call from a friend, and a just a plain lazy two days that were too relaxing!!!! but it will but it will be nice to work again

am a single grandma for the last 27 years

Outside my window..so windy out lately, my brush piles still have to be burned and it is still dark out, the bird seeder is empty and there is muc everywhere............

I am thinking...i had better hurry or i will be late

I am thankful for... life and people and forgiveness and grace

I am wearing...clogs on my feet

I am remembering...i need to drink at least a quart of water right now

I am going...back to work after being off for a few days,

I am currently reading...Daniel and the Revelation by Uriah Smith and Damiel 11. it is a long chapter and lots to evaluate

I am hoping... our prayers for a mended family will be answered--2

On my mind... another lady of 84 is passing away today and a baby will be born soon too of a young girl i knew

Noticing that... there is no snow here and the river is now a trickle

Quite a weekend

For today--- from my daybook... this is Sunday night
Outside my window...the cars with lights on going past my window one by one, a big loader with bright lights going by, no stars, just foggy clouds, and the other cars are picking up oranges and grapefruits from Florida

I am thinking... it has been a nice weekend after all, i am so glad it is over but wish it would start over again, that this might be a morbid post for all of you but then someone might relate also......well here is to a good week, may God bless us all.....

I am thankful for... that my daughter came today and we had a nice chat about things and to know she is finally growing up and realizing what being an adult finally is ..whatever that means...maturing i guess
I am wearing... the most confortable thing in the world....you guessed it..........................pjs

I am remembering...when my mom died, within the half hour she had turned cold and unmoving. this sounds gruesome i know but i went to a friends funeral today and went to the casket to say goodbye and she was peaceful, i touched her hand and it was still..........hard remembering

I am going...to travel the 65 km to work all week and back--things don't change too much but i am thankful, going to lose weight, going to phone my friend, going to make a scrapbook of photos

I am currently reading...Daniel and the Revelation by Uriah Smith and Damiel 11. it is a long chapter and lots to evaluate

I am hoping... that after a great arguement that our family will find its way back together again, my son is a missionary in Brasil and i hope that his trip in the jungle will be safe as there will be no communication for a whole month--still again

On my mind... the funeral of a church family member which left a great impact on a lot of people and attended my women's ministry and always invited someone over for dinner everyday, never complained about anyone, i wish to be as nice but have a long way to go
Also...of a couple that is going thru a hard time in their marriage. i pray to God pleading that he will answer and help them to mend things together even for the children's sake

Noticing that... the weather has warmed up enough to make the day nice with the fluttering of a snowfalke here and there

Pondering these words...Unless we can hear each other singing and crying, unless we can comfort each other's failures and cheer each other's victories, we are missing out on the best that life has to offer.. The only real action takes place on the bridge between peiople.

From the kitchen... i made a fudge brownie and left it at the church kitchen for the guests

Around the house...just the main bedroom left

One of my favorite things...casket that is laiden with pink ruffles and lace taffeta and pillow--it was divine and the only way i would consider being buried in the ground!!!!!!

For today--- from my daybook

Outside my window...well! i am writing this on Sunday evening so it is quite dark out and chilly. the snow has been disappearing quickly and there are huge patches of ice all over the driveway although the highway is clear and dry

I am thinking... how can people talk so fast, some people are so lucky as to talk all day long without stopping!!!! tomorrow i really have to wash my car as it hasn't been done all winter, but the roads are dry now sooooooo

I am thankful for... that God has blessed even though I am such a sinner. what a merciful God I have!!! everyday i have to be thankful for this same thing and every day i say the same thing but that is okay...

I am wearing... sheesh...what would we do without pjs...but i was wearing jeans today and tomorrow i am in scrubs again, we start working in a brand new renovated office

I am remembering...when all the kids were home again and i should have been more thankful when they were young, it was so much fun to have them all home, it is fun to be busy

Outside my window...it is a white sultry day that is snowing and cool andthe horse is standing outside trying to see if there is any movement in this house, he is a onely horse all day just standing there. Does he feel like me sometimes and wishes he had a dog around!!!!!!!
I am thinking... of what to write here and what to give my daughter and how i am going to remember what i am taught to give it to my clients, to bring honor to those who are gracious to me, to long for the day that i sleep forever and wake to eternity when Jesus comes

I am thankful for... that God has blessed even though I am such a sinner. what a merciful God I have!!!

I am wearing... still in pjs after actually forgetting it was Monday, getting dressed in jeans after, it is amazing how many of us are in pjs. we are ladies of the home i guess!!

I am remembering...how many times people have said i look so much like this lady and to some degree i do, no grey hair have i at 60, but it would be nice if i looked as young,,,,she is my grandmother who has now passed away

I am going...do the dishes, wait for my neighbor to bring potatoes over and then tomorrow probably take it to town for my daughter, to sew her curtains as well

A busy day in January

For today--- from my daybook

Outside my window... it has been warm and maybe a chinoock is blowing by for the last couple of days, and raining and very windy, right now it is five in the morning and dark

I am thinking... all night in my sleep how nice it is to breathe and wondering how i will do a breathing presentation...and how nice it is to sleep and let the world go by!!!!

I am thankful for... for peace and quiet even though i have had too much lately, for time off work, for green salads, that God is a joyful God

I am wearing... nothing new...same old ....pjs this time of morning....same old but very comfy jeans and shirt for the rest of the day

I am remembering... many years ago when I first moved to this valley, how empty the trailer was and how i slept on the floor in the living room with one mattress and a set of outdoor christmas lights around the mirrors to give me light, and now I have a full house of many things.

I am going... to get ready for my dinner tomorrow with the other dental clinic, going to Smithers today to shop,

I am currently reading...just magazines that i have around the house for projects to do and to dream of doing....hahaha..that is the only way it gets done!!!!!

I am hoping... a few of you or more would come by my facebook group and join me and the ladies there...just look for "Common Ground"...that sounds interesting for today......

On my mind... many things today--empty garbage, go shopping, icy roads, things to say for presentation, how my kids are, how to save money to go to Bolivia again or is it somewhere else i need to go????

Noticing that... i am always the largest person in pictures and i need to get out and exercise and start to eat healthy again...groan ....but that should be easy right!!!!!

Pondering these words...Gen. 2:7....And God formed man out of the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life...and man become a living soul.

What joy it must have been for God to give man life after forming every little cell and artery and hair and layering the skin across the dusted form of this man, after breathing into him and giving him the smile of life and a mate to enjoy. these are the things God cannot do---make our choices for us, give birth--although He can create--but what joy in his heart to give us these things

From the kitchen... couscous and red quinoa for breafast with raisins and cream!!!!

Around the house...well this may sound really silly but i put up the rest of my christmas decorations last night just to finish things off and enjoy the end product. Christmas is so pretty..

One of my favorite things... oh yes and there was such a georgeous moon the other day....it was large and round except for the top as it was sort of rounded with the top taken off and it was orange in a subtle way

Outside my window... Dawn is here and with it a promise of another mild day of 9 degrees

I am thinking... about about what to do with my granddaughter today

I am thankful for... the mercies and protection and guidance of a 'gracious' God

I am wearing... green jeans later on today for shopping and clogs as they are so comfortable and versitile, for now it is pjs. as this is the first home time i have had in a long time it seems.

I am remembering... a special decoration i made years ago out of pistachio shells around a styrofoam ball with a red ribbon. i hope i can find it now.

I am going... to make a list of what i have to do today including a baby shower that will be held today at the church. they will use my pink christmas decorations that we had for womens ministry meeting

I am currently reading... Buyteko Breathing

I am hoping... that my children will be safe today and find a blessing in keeping the Father of heaven in their lives

On my mind... well! it is nice to write this again after another month and to sit in from the of pellet fireplace enjoying its warmth

Noticing that... i have three kids that were born this week on christmas day---oldest daughter and two years later twin boys

A month has gone by

FOR TODAY...november 16, 2009
i looked at the last entry and a whole month almost has passed and it has been that long since i have a few minutes to sit down and actally write, so here it is......

Outside my window... well between the flowered curtains i can see that it is still dark out--quarter after seven

I am thinking... i have probably said it all this morning but right now i keep seeing shadows move and i am thinking i am going to have to get one of those ultrasonic plugins to scare mice away. they don't eat the poison anymore.

I am thankful for... for this week off, my boss has gone to San Diego, how do you spell that!!, for a seminar, it has been nice to be at home as i am sorting junk and moving it around and trying to get rid of it - threw out a little bit---hahahha

I am wearing... well wouldn't you know it,, its almst like when the phone rings when you are in the tub.......guess....it is white.....

I am remembering...the times when my mom was alive and the times i would phone and dad would answer the phone with OH! Hi Buff,,,,,hey Orlo...its buff come to the phone...

I am going... probably going to Smithers today, that is town about 45minutes away.....and bringing my kids the junk i sorted out so they can throw it away...hahhaha

I am reading...just magazines--Mary Janes Farm, Romantic Country decorating because it has pink in it and e-Sword on the computer--a bible platform

I am hoping... that i will be able to read a few of your entries, that i will get a decent paycheck after this month, that God will answer a couple of prayers for today and that each of you wil have a good day full of blessings to put on paper

On my mind... well that is almost the same as i am hoping and remembering and thankful and thinking......

From the learning rooms... the learning rooms of my mind tells me to be careful what and who i critisize, to be more understanding of other people--there is always a reason what they do and to remember the issue behind the action.

Noticing that... it is getting daylight now and there is still the same snow out as was yesterday

From the kitchen...Creamed eggs on toast for breakfast, gren salad with pears, feta, pecans and lemon dressing for dinner and am going to make some hard bread---now aren't i just absent minded for a moment what is it called.........

Outside my window...blessed clouds, it seems so long since it has rained and things are so dry here. Slight wind and coolish--a 52 degrees F today.

I am thinking...i am looking at the temp for Guayamerin, and what a change from yesterday-it was 90 and now it is 65. i am leaving for Bolivia next week and am getting real nervous. Beginnin to wonder the wisdom of booking this trip. But i am going to trust God will take care of me.

I am thankful for...for my property and the scenery around it, had a good garden this year--tons of zucchinis, thankful for the grace of God and what a huge intake those three words are!! God is so good! Makes me take a big breath!

From the learning rooms...(i am just changing jobs and i need to listen to the still small voice that tells me to slow down)

From the kitchen...Zucchini Casserole---slice the veggies and onions and layer them, salt, and pour on diluted tomato soup and top with grated cheese and bake. it is sooooo good. I am wondering if it wil freeze. i am going to try. once it is cooked it should be okay.

I am creating...a bedspread for a single bed for one of my granddaughters

I am going...to Terrace today to shop for clothes for Bolivia

I am reading...bringing along some recipie books to copy my old recipies for on the plane. i have a two day flight, and my mini computer

I am hoping...that my house will keep safe here, my flights will be good and that someone will meet me at the airport when i get there.

I am hearing...the cold wind swaying the trees, crows talking, train going by, we went to a friends house the other day and the train went by and right after that the coyotes started to howl. Every time!!!!

Around the house...just about got everything organized, a young couple will be spending the weekends here and someone will be waering my plants. Garden is rototilled for the most part. When i come back i will get two loads of manure and have it set for the winter. Still need to get underneath the trailer and insulate a few pipes. i have been putting it off till the last minute.......

One of my favorite things...The pillows i am leaning on!!!!!

A few plans for the rest of the week:.....Work for Wed and Thurs and last minute preps on Friday and make peanut butter cookies to take to my son, pick up pkgs at the post office and buy another suitcase and and and..................................

Outside my window... blue sky with few clouds and 50degrees F. Leaves are so still!

I am thinking... it is going to be another nice day, wish i had it at home instead of work, but work is good!!

My favorite things...chocolate and a pillow

From the learning rooms... i am learning not to touch big cactus with prickles as they stick in your fingers forever.......how do i get them out??????

I am thankful for... so much for this beautiful country and its peace, for summer, flowers and the ability to do things around the yard, for God who give me salvation every day

From the kitchen... well there is a kale salad with black beans,oranges, parsley, nuts and fresh lemon for dressing

I am wearing... i need to find my brown DAWGS.....

I am reading...need to find another good book, i like true stories, just finished one called the Prisonni where a kings step daughter was imprissoned for 25 years. what a terrible story and ordeal she went thru but what courage they had. goood read.

I am hoping... to get the dry wall and painting done this week and to lay the carpet to the small room by Friday. am painting the walls pink!!!! a very light pink

I am praying... for my children as always that they will love Christ, to be happy in life, for the people in our church and for you who read this, for our work and for a lady who will lose her life to cancer and prayeng that she will be healed to extend her life for her three small children

Around the house... junk piled everywhere from renovations to be done......

A few plans for the rest of the week...well not this week maybe but i have agreenhouse to build for next year, and a trip to Bolivia to get ready for. am leaving August 16 and i am getting nervous. do not like to fly...three days of it.....

Outside my window...it is a cloudy , cool morning of minus 2 degrees, and a very wet one too, but that is okay because things are still turning green. or is that mist?? maybe it will be sunny today

I am thinking...i wonder when the sun will come out, will my bid get accepted today for the house, will curt phone--my son, or my other son-clint

I am thankful for...Grace that it wil always be there even though sin is too just as much, But God is greater---you know that song!!!!

From the kitchen...am having asparagas with lemon and cream for breakfast and maybe a greensmoothie

I am wearing...brand new black scrubs

I am creating...a celebration banner for mothers day, it is already hung in the church so will take a pic afterwards

I am going...to work in about an hour and a half but it is nice to sit here and share!!

I am hoping...well! this sort of goes along with what am i thinking today!! he he he

I am hearing...humm....it is quiet for once except a woodpecker and the birds singing--so nice

Around the house...seems like junk just gets moved from one organized part of the house to th other, i need to throw some things away

One of my favorite things...my camera - finally dried out and is working after i forgot it outside yesterday!!

A few plans for the rest of the week:...every week seems to be about th same when there is work but they may change if the bid goes thru then i will have to visit lawyers and such

For Today...Monday morning 27th

Outside my window...For once on a monday i can write that it is a bright clear blue sky, full sun and a mere warm!!!!!!!!!! -3. well it will warm up today!!!

I am hearing......the loader already--he has started the motor and letting it warm up, pellet stove is running and so is the fridge, the neighbours are walking by talking away !!!!!! and me sniffing my nose from the cold

I am thinking... i have to type fast and get ready for work as it is 7:26am already

From the kitchen... a sink full of dishes i have to do today and for breakfast left over green salad

I am thankful for.....a most loving God who was our Passover and now our Living saviour who has taken our sins and put them in the depths of the sea, He comes into our hearts at a moments notice and gives us joy and peace...

I am praying.....for my children, the place where i work, for me, for my church and neighbors, and you

I am wearing... still in pink pj's but there will be scrubs as usual

I am reading...Bible on Mark 14....

I am hoping...to get the finances settled soon after we put bids in on a trailer, to get my garden plowed, and to get thru this day with no hitches!!!

A few plans for the rest of the week......to go over my Myo tonite, get my housework more or less done, i already cleaned my car yesterday!!!!, clean off my porch, go for a bike ride and do some raking in the yard

Outside my window...it is pouring rain, high whitish gry clouds--you know the kind that brings more rain and snow on the mountains!!! it has snowed 3/4 of the way down!!! Water is making huge puddles all over the ground with the moss turning greener---what a picture

I am thinking...a good day to stay indoors, i actually have a whole day to look over all the posts everyone else writes!!!

I am thankful for...for the visit i had with the girls this weekend and the grandkids, when they all go it is so quiet, for the visit i had with my son on skype from bolivia

FOR TODAY (April 6, Monday)...

Outside my window...is DAYLIGHT !!!! it is so nice to get up in the morning and go to work when it is daylight and there are just grey cloudy skies but it is warmish out. Snow is finally melting in the chilly air and mud is everywhere

I am thinking...it is finally Spring, i even took the plastic off the windows this morning!!!!

I am thankful for...God who has created the earth is six days and that He is constant and so is the earth there will be no question where i came from or where i will go....

From the learning rooms...well i had the grandkids this weekend and it was a learning experience in patience, they are very sweet girls

From the kitchen...made beetroot, apple, buttermilk muffins---which are very good actually!!!!

Outside my window... daylight is beginning to show and the morning is warm, yesterday the birds were singing from the treetops just in full chorus

I am thinking... back to work again after a day of being very lazy, am i going to be able to work today!!!!

For Today..

Outside my window... darkness still reigns as it is still 6:30 in the morning

I am thinking... for once it will be nice to go to work today as i have been sitting around the house all weekend from the flu

I am thankful for... for the peace and tranquility of my home and for soft music, for the peace which comes from knowing the love of Jesus, for the color purple

From the kitchen... i got a new blender the other day as the old one broke down, and in the recipe booke there s one for a Spinach Dip.....use half a brick of silken tofu, half a cup of carrots, handful of raw spinach, salt and pepper to taste, tablespoonful of lemon juice, and tsp of tarragon, a little slice of onion and a small clove of garlic. Put this all in your new Vita Mix blender for a second or two and serve on crackers or bread. This is very good!!!!

I am hoping... to get my telephone bill settled today as there is a huge mistake on it ---a 800$$$ mistake

I am hearing... chickadees have started their mating calls again, they tried a month ago then quit, but i think spring is just around the corner so they have started again, the dryer just quit, the pellet stove is too silent so i will need to turn the thermostat up, and i love the music on my blog--Thru Pink Curtains

Around the house... signs that spring cleaning definitely needs to be done, dogs have left their tracks , porch needs sorting and i need to order some more pellets. they really are a good thing to invest in.

FOR TODAY (DECEMBER 29,2008)...

Outside my window...Blue grey morning is opening up to a more or less cloudy clear day!! in other words we never know what the day will bring by the end of it. it cold snow!!! but there will be sun today too. anyway it is going to be a good day..

I am thinking...Wow, another year has almost slithered by with many things to accomplish that will be pushed into the next year, so many birthdays have happened in this month also and a couple of persons have been laid to rest in the cozy blanket of white snow to await the coming of a Saviour who will raise them up again and take them to heaven.

I am thankful for...safety, food, holidays, money, warmth and crisp winter air, family, and all the encouragement and grace that this embraces

From the learning rooms...(if this applies)

From the kitchen...I will be making cookies with my granddaughter to send to my sons who did not get home this year and because i was too busy before christmas they will get it now!!! They also had birthdays on Christmas day --twins and an older daugter --two years apart and on the same day. we will make a small batch of pancakes this morning too. maybe i will post a picture afterward.

Buttermilk Pankcakes

3/4 cup each of white and brown flour

big heaping tablespoon of brown sugar --- 2 tbsp!

1 tsp salt

1 tsp soda

1/4 cup of cornmeal

big dash of bran

mix all that and add

3 eggs

2-3 tbsp of oil

2 cups maybe 1/4 more of buttermilk

i like to add corn or blueberries or raspberrries also, we always put peanutbutter and applesauce on top or pearsauce which is blended up pears

I am reading...the new devotional that my friend gave me for Christmas entitled 'Grace Notes' by ardis dick stenbakken

I am hearing...the remnant of the Christmas music playing and the words that say Give Me Jesus! when i am alone give me Jesus. for in these moments we find the peace and strngth for the day. awesome thought.

Around the house...it is so nice to have my house sort of organized this holiday and to have the holiday time from work to do it. but there are still a bathroom to decorate and doors to rehang and skirting for the trailer will have to wait for summer. always something to do. and a blanket to stitch together

One of my favorite things...sitting in front of the pellet sove and enjoying the WARMTH. i can just feel the warm floor and the heat melting up to my legs!!!!!

FOR TODAY (december 8....wow already it is so close to christmas and the end of the year and my kids birthdays...three of them)..

Outside my window...dark out and beyond that i can't see anything but the plastic on the windows

I am thinking...it would be nice to sit on this couch all day, i am tired after esterdays party preparations and stress of it all, i am sort f discuted with everyone as a program was planned and they were so rude to talk all the way thru it. guess i will have a meeting where everyone can just talk!!!! there i vented................

I am thankful for...for those who showed up though, and i am thankful for this couch and for the few moments in the morning to relax before work

From the learning rooms...humm what have i learned today........or what should i learn...possibly tat i should just let everybody do their own thing but then the meetings and purpose for the meetings will go down the drain, time to resign?????

FOR TODAY (november 17)...

Outside my window...well this morning we woke up to five inches of snow making things a very pretty winter wonderland. absolutely lovely. so i walked to the window and took a picture. and very warm out for this time of year.

I am thinking...it would be so nice to stay at home today instead of going to work but there are so many tings to do and no time to do it in.

I am thankful for...for the freedom to pray and for the coice to do so. i am thankful for the Spirit and his leading

From the kitchen...grapefruits and oranges from Florida just arrived, tey are so good and we look forward to them every winter season, just made a green salad with a peanut butter slice of bread!!! nuts and fruit for dinner...........sounds really appetizing doesn't it. i guess you could put it all tgether and have a Thai meal with noodles.....getting better eh!!

Outside my window...dark as usual but will get light in about an hour and then the sun will light up the mountains and then it will rain again hahah but it was cold last night so i guess we will have some nice weather today i will let you know.....

I am thankful for...my children and their children, for the comfort we find in family and the ability to help them, Praising God for his mercy toward us

For Today... it is early and the second day for the time change and it seems lots of people are still wide awake this time of the morning..... it is 5'30 am or actually 4'30. a couple of hours to go before we have to get ready for work.

Outside my Window...it is still dark--i am a morning person i always get up early and go to bed late too for that matter!!! It has been raining all night again and am wondering if our Christmas will be white or brown

I am thankful for.....my home, and property, i enjoy the beauty of its surrounding area the the people who are around me. i am thakful for Gof in heaven who has granted me health, and riches and protection and for the saving power in his life giving hands. Do you know the song that Ivan Parker sings.....Saved by the hands

From the kitchen...a quart of warm blueberry tea and Shreddies for breakfast again! Schneider's puts out a real nice fake chicken made with soy protein that is actually very good called Oh Natural........will make a nice chicken burger for dinner.

I am wearing... right now pink nite shirt with little white lambs but later scrubs again--that's my life! although the seminar last week said that for the uptown lifestyle in a dental office, you can wear co-ordinated colors on certain days! but different styles and not scrubs! lab coats???NO.

I am reading...Victoria, Martha Stewart, i have magazines i have saved for 20 years that i am looking thru. time to thow some away i guess but some of them have such nice pictures in them. or i could cut them out and scrapbook---a good idea! i wonder where you all get your antique pics from......

I am hearing...now it is the fridge fan!!!!! and one of the wall clocks steadily ticking. don't think i have changed all of them yet!!!1

Around the house.....For the third time i have lost my bank card and this morning i thought i lost it again. Something strange is going on here but not really because i just happened to empty the contents of my purse in a box and put it away where i would not forget--hahah---and after searching a few places this morning found it again. That was a relief!!!! Time to sort thru Christmas decorations.......here is a setting i used a couple years or so ago for a ladies meeting....

I am actually going to sort thru some of my books and give them away

For Today...blackbirds and christmas

Outside my Window...it is still dark

From the kitchen...a quart of warm blueberry tea

I am wearing... scrubs again

I am reading...cooking magazines and christmas recipies--looking at biscotti, food gifts in a jar with decorated tops, sewing table runners, and tiny quiches

I am hearing...the furnace jiggling fan

Around the house.....I have to change the water faucets outside so they don't reeze. I would love someone to build me a small shed for the car. oh well!! make sure the skirting is intact for the winter

things never change around here but i did get some leaves raked before the rake broke!!! have to buy a new one today

One of my favorite things...pink snap dragons and purple something flowers that i brought in from the porch, they might bloom for a little while in the house---still blooming. the white christmas cactus is blooming now and i only have two or three blossoms on the red one. i think it needs repoting as some large branches fill off....

Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week...humm have to think about that just work--getting two tons of wood pellets today, cleaned out the porch yesterday

For Today...it is the start of a new week and I am going to like it rain or SNOW or with or with out sunshine!!

Outside my Window...is a bright sunshinny day with grey clouds that threaten to bring down snow or slush! Green and yellow leaves glisten in the sun and with a slight breeze leaves are shuffling here to there. It is beautiful

From the kitchen...fresh asparagras soup made in a hurry with water onions, celery, chicken seasoning and boil just until barely done, then put in the blender. it leaves a rather chunky version of soup but that is okay, add a dab of cream and there you have it-- Soup before i rush off to work!!!

I am wearing...new scrubs again

For Today...monday ~~Good Morning!!!

Outside my Window...is dark, cloudy, hear a train in the distance, car drove by otherwise there is silence and leaves all over the place

I am thankful for...for the priviledge of being out of debt, that i was able to help the kids in a small way, for two part time jobs, one or the other should keep me going in this recession

In the kitchen...blueberry tea as always, buckwheat berries that have been soaked over night, rinsed, with raisins and bananas, with hemp milk on top for breakfast, salad for dinner and probably for supper too

I am wearing...Scrubs again.

I am reading...my bills

I am creating...an apron made out of black and white striped material and lace-you can see it on the other blog

I am hearing...dryer, water dripping and my stove has an annoing beep beep because i left something on it, i must turn it off!!

Around the house...trying to decide whether to put in a pellet or ordinary wood stove for heat

For Today...monday ~~Well it is actually evening now

Outside my Window...the day has been so beautiful and clear and warm. everone was saying why do we have to work or why can't we see our patients outside!!! I am sure protocol does not allow us but if given an individual choice no one would mind!!! But we are stuck inside with no windows and peoples' comments on the weather or as some did-not show up!!! Now it is a clear dusky sky that promises to be another warm day. Golden leaves are fallen on a green lawn and the garden begs to be retilled.

I am thankful for...for a God who is patient with us when we make mistakes and tr to make decisions on our own. How He patiently works around us trying to iron out each circumstance. I am thankful for the presence of Christ in our lives.

In the kitchen...

Blueberry tea, spinach/banana smoothie that i didn't finish which will probably go to the compost worms!!!, salad, just something simple for the only one at home--me!!

FOR TODAY (September 8 2008)...

Outside My Window...i am getting up at 6:30am and it is dark, thick clouds envelope the mountains, all the trees are still, leaves are turning yellow, boletus mushrooms have grow out of nowhere to a huge size, heavy dew on the ground, birds are ravenous tis year as the feeder was just replenished yesterday....

I am thinking...it is daylight now and i have an hour to get ready for work. i am glad i only have ten minutes to drive to work for the next two days and in the daylight!!

It's going to be a big change for me as my daughter and her girl mmove in with me for the school year but it will be nice for company..

I am thankful for...the miracles God has provided in his mercy and in hard times. He does his best work in these times!

From the kitchen...blueberry tea for now and a spinach green smothie with banana for breakfast--i should add some mixture of ground flax/sesame/hemp, then i will have nuts to eat also and another banana!!!!!

I am wearing...pj's of course now but i shall change into brand new scrubs i bought last week--pink/black patterened ones

Around the house...as i got up there was this very deep baritone hummbuzz--scared me as i listened to it for a few minutes wondering what on earth it was and where it was coming from . the dryer door ws open and it had flown into it and then on the door. below is a very poor picture but you get the idea. i have no idea what it is and have never seen one before.........

FOR TODAY (August 31)...a holiday for the provinces

Outside My Window...I am writing at night for tomorrow and it is dark as ink out there, but surprisingly warm as last week has been cold. On the mountains it has been snowing every day. It actually snowed in Canmore this weekend as I was looking at some pictures my friend had as they were celebrating their wedding anniversary.

I am thinking...why does my leg have to ache constantly making it difficult to walk even, it hurts as i have those v veins. Doctors appt coming up!

I am thankful for...my new kichen, but a flattop stove is not the best thing to use for canning, it ruined my canner that i had borrowed and so i will have to buy her a new one, thankful for 3ABN station-you can find it on the net also, my bed as i have to get there right now --it is past 12 o'clock and i might turn into a pumpkin tomorrow!!!!!!!!!!!!

From the kitchen...bread and butter pickles as you can look at on my other blog--and carrot and bean dills and one beet pickles all made with lemon juice.

I am wearing...my mom always made these nightgowns when we were home as kids and when she died she had left a pretty pink flowered one. it is comfortable anyway for lounging in.

I am creating...i create a mess everyday and somehow it just does not clean itself up--i guess i am missing kids at home!!!!!

I am going...or would love to go to Calgary on sept 18 to see Neil Diamond!!!!!!!!!!!!that would be so much fun but i am too far away.............

FOR TODAY (August 18,008)...

Outside My Window... The moon speaks - last night it was a full moon clouded over by night clouds, this morning while driving to work i saw it over my shoulder so clear in the blue sky, it's fuzzy shadow outlined just like a huge cotton ball, a real nice sight. Now a car or two is speeding by to get home to watch the lst of the Olympic games or to go to bed or just to get home before dark and it is very quiet out. It had rained today while i was working.

I am thinking... I am so tired of driving back and forth to work already and i have a whole winter to go!! but there is the garden to bring in and hay to spread on it, bills to pay and the house to get ready for winter and wood to bring in and how can i do it already.. are you tired yet?

I am thankful for... for my job, for people being patient with me, for God teaching us how to forgive and be fair and honest.

From the kitchen... parsley juice, dried bananas, nuts and raisins, peas and dishes to do..........

I am wearing... garden clothes and soon to don night clothes

I am creating...a mess that needs to be cleaned up later

I am going... to work to train tomorrow on photographs, Bio paks, tomos, cephs, ortho records, and such things dentally related, then i am going to visit the grandkids and then i am going home to bed

Yesterday..............the grandeur of a storm

FOR TODAY (August 12, Monday)...

The Lord is my Shepherd;

Outside My Window...Have you ever seen those mornings when you wake up, glance out the window and the sun is just at its best in promising its going to be a great day, yet the grey clouds that are silver lined are all around, little bits of blue sky showing in the background, you rush to get a picture and the moment is is gone. batteries are dead. But what a beautiful morning! Still I caught the tail end of the rising sun.

and much later here it is and you can see the scarlet runners beginning to open up by my bedroom window where i can reach out and grab a bean when they get large. They are so yummy raw... I see the lady next door who lost her husband several years ago but still keeps going with bringing in her hay and wood and selling bread at the flea market. She is out walking with her red sweater on, dress and jeans underneath picking up stray bits of garbage on the road........

I am thinking... Oh! that poor bird. He just flew into my window... It has been a really long weekend and I have enjoyed it because i did some shopping and because it was nice to do things around home and get paid for it from holiday pay!!!

I am thankful for... neighbors who lent me their truck to go pick up a bed, my sons who built the addition to put it in, paychecks, the rain is lovely too, all the 50 so birds that are feeding at the feeder that is empty now but there is almost half of it on the ground!!! Bananas!!

From the kitchen... Baking bread again, dehyrating bananas into thin strips - they are just like candy. last year i did blueberries and cherries-very good!!! making a couple of cheesecakes to sell, maybe a tray of cinnamon buns too for work

I am wearing... yellow shirt-i love yellow and could only wear it when i got older but it has to be a lemon yellow and brown cargo jeans that roll up from the cuff. and brown rubber slippers

I am creating...

I am going... I have already gone to Terrace but today i stay at home, will go to the garbage dump to get rid of junk and paper that the bed was wrapped up in, tomorrow is work again

I am hoping... so much that my oldest daughter will come here to stay for a year, same wish as last week

I am hearing... a train in the distance, cries of a family who has lost a wife in a car accident this weekend, a daughter who is on life support, the laughter of a wedding, the engines of a truck as new owners move into their home, groans as we decide wether to keep our school going, prayers of all for their children and work and life

Outside My Window... wonderful view of the mountains and Roche de Boule peak

I am thinking...that i gave this lady hot dog buns instead of a loaf of bread, oh well she has kids so hopefully she can use them!!! So nice to have a few sunny days where the garden can grow. The raspberries are really huge this year. I would love to have some extra money to go to Calgary this coming weekend!!

I am thankful for...the sun, my ramp , peas are loaded with pods, glad Sheri is doing well after breast cancer surgery, for the yellow bird that was in my yard-western tanager , Mouse traps???!!!!!

From the kitchen...made bread and gave it away to about five people around supper time, so i got a lot of smiles!!! and the house smelled of fresh bread for a long time!!

I am wearing...blue shirt, black denims, brown clogs, hair tied back

I am creating...I did make a ramp for the back entrance, it works!!! otherwise nothing---although I did go visit my friend and she had just finished quilting a bear claw blanket that she made. I should be so inspired. She will put it in the fair for display.

I am hearing...the roar of engines as hot rodders roar up the road with their trucks and four wheelers, the other day 8 of them went roaring past the yard, rototillers and logging trucks in the morning, the wind is galing up a storm for the night--i hope it will not rain until we go back to work

Around the house... dishes as usual to do, clean sheets for the week in the dryer still

One of my favorite things...is my new kitchen and the white quilted pillow case from IKEA that has the folded opening in the back and the pillow is the crunchy-up kind that is always comfortable!!!!

A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week: go see the lawyer to get a letter drawn up for my car refund, make oatmeal raisin cookies and get them sent off to the kids along with the peanutbutter ones, go to smithers tomorrow and see the grandkids, general work week, and give the two remaining loaves of bread to the flea market person

Another day in July

FOR TODAY (July28)... I can get up at a nice hour and get ready for work without having to drive a whole hour--I am working at home town , but i do have a birthday cake to decorate for one of the bosses

Outside My Window...well , right now it is dark so will have to wait until tomorrow to tell you! Sunday we had all kinds of weather sunny , cool , cloudy, windy, rain and finally a nice sunset

I am thinking... about what to put on the cake, probably one of the yellow lillies and some ivy or something

I am thankful for...for Sunday to putter around the house, my children, How good God is and that is the Creator of my life, We are worth more than sparrows to Him, although i don't see too many sparrows but i do see lots of chickadees, but it is amazing of all the things and people in this world, we--I am still loved by Him.

From the kitchen... I made peanut butter cookies today and bread that i think has an Italian origin with sage, green olives and black pepper. You can see it in the picture below. It is really yummy, i ate have the cookie sheet full!!!!!!

I am wearing... should i really tell????? a long maroon colored bath towel!!!

I am creating...a mess in my house sorting thru all my junk , i really want to throw some of it away

I am going... bed soon, getting up probably at 6:00am --creature of habit!!! read a bit, decorate the cake, go to work and come home at 5. sounds pretty normal eh!!!

RECIPE:

1 CUP + 2 TBSP WARM WATER
1 TSP LEMN JUICE FRESH SQUEEZED-VERY IMPORTANT FOR A SOFT DOUGH
1 1/2 TBSP OIL
3 TBSP SUGAR
1 1/2 TSP SALT
1 1/2 TBSP DRY MILK
2 2/3 CUP OF WHITE FLOUR
1 TBSP YEAST
i used a small jar of Linday Manzanilla pimento olives chopped and a tablespoon about!! of chopped fresh sage and a pinch or two of black pepper
Mix all together, let rise, knead down and spread out on cookie sheet, score, let rise about a half hour and bake at 350 for 20 min or until done. you can also roll out in round bread sticks.

Outside My Window... is a wall of dark cloud that envelopes the town in rain, but beyond that is blue sky and a sun that is shining thru giving gleams of light into this dark world!! Trees are absolutely still, not even a leaf is moving. Awesome!

I am thinking... there is sunshine for hope

I am thankful for... for this day of work even thought i dread going, but i am thankful that i have this day and this next week to work--better than not working!

From the kitchen...I am making another salad for breakfast!!!! with stuff from my garden and on top will be a hemp dressing as usual and nuts and ground flax

Hemp Dressing

3 limes -extract the juice
some Sea salt - pinch or four or five shakes
2 medium pickles with garlic and about a tblespoonfull of picle juice plus about a tsp more
about a quarter cup of hemp
1-2-2 1/2 -3 tbsp maple syrup

I know that this is not your typical recipe but i don't measure and it turns out different everytime but still tastes delicious, hope it turns out good for you!

I am wearing... I need to get out of these pink pj''s and get ready for scrubs!! and this blanket is so warm wrapped around me!

Anna purna - this mountain climber is up to 25,000feet now and they still haven't found their main peak, running out of food and it is quite cold, still getting along with the villagers and each other, and seeing lots of women, but climbing the mountain decending and ascending for some peculiar reason i don't understand mountain climbing i guess!!!!

I am hoping... for money and a full time job and to get out of debt!, also for my kids to love the Lord Jesus and be ready when he comes in the clouds of heaven!

I am hearing... people driving their cars home from work, the neighbor couple coming home from a walk--i can hear them talking!--, and the silence that is around me

Around the house... are boxes and stuff all over because i was loking for this mouse!!! Now I have to put it all back --- no mouse!

Outside My Window...is the cold winter ---Oh! did i say winter, i meant summer day, it is 3 degrees this morning after a warm day yesterday. It thundered and rained

I am thinking...Praise God for answering prayers so fast. CDA's are hard to come by here and a couple of the dentists needed assistants. I have been working for two part time and The Lord provided a raise and so I will be working at my home town now

I am thankful for...the raise and green salads

From the kitchen...Tetunias on the porch are blooming slowly but are pretty and Playboy roses are full bloom too

Outside My Window...looking thru the screen is the black of night, not a leaf is stirring or a bird twittering, even the mosquitos are got their buzzers tucked under!!! Mount Roche de Boule (meaning rushing rock or something like that!) is quiet . in other words a very quiet night with a navy blue sky....

I am thinking...I wish this day would never end

I am thankful for...for the warmth of the day and night, I hate being cold, and its getting late and i am very thankful for my double mattressed bed

From the kitchen...are dishes that i will do tomorrow, raw vegan chocolate to eat with strawberries, garden fresh tomatoes sitting on the counter, and the thoughts of an east Indian dish that my boss tells me his wife makes with Swiss Chard and lentils with cunim which is rolled up and steamed and sliced and deepfried. MMMMMM it sounds very good.

I am wearing... trousers that have become too big and the waistline is up to my bra line, a grey shirt that has birds and birdhouses all over it and navy blue socks. How can you tell I have been out in the garden weeding!!!!

I am creating...a blog for my church ladies of the outing we went to to have tea

I am going...to work in Smithers on Wednesday and we have to do mini implants, first time assisting by myself. am a little nervous but we will be okay because the boss is very nice
